Hallo,
I think you all will like this letter from Justin, sounds like a
memorable vacation!
We love you all, It is Vaters Day here in Austria.
We have ward conference today. Last night we had a talent show night.
some of the members are really clever. We had the water ballet thing
like Jodi did with Brenda and Janette. It was the 3 new bishopric and 3
other guys, It had everyone rolling in the aisles. One of the guys made
two film previews with his wife and kids and some other kids in the
ward. It was hilarious and in English so we enjoyed being able to hear
it.
Rained most of the day yesterday so we didn't do much. I went
grocery shopping with a lady from the ward. I think I have told you
that you have to take your own sacks or buy them at the store, so people
take boxes or sacks everywhere. You also have to put in a coin or
token for your shopping cart, you can get it back when you return the
cart. sounds like a good idea in the USA.
Their are ridges in
the roads and sidewalks and we finally figured out that it is for the
blind people. they also have them in the train stations. they have a
bike lane and a sidewalk next to each other, Dad and I have had to be
careful if we accidently Walk in the bike lane because they come up so
fast on you and ring a bell or go whizzing by. I have to go get ready
now, Dad has to practice to sing in the choir.
Love you all,
Mom and Dad
Letter sent from Justin
Sounds
like you are keeping busy. We have had quite the vacation, not the one
we planned that's for sure.
We started off Day 1 with 4 throw ups, 3 all
over the kids and their clothes and the 4th in a bag.
Day 2 the beach
was fun and then off to Florida 95 and humid the last 4 hours without
air conditioning.
Day 3 hung around the retirement village, gold carts,
swimming and a little relaxing took the car in to get fixed, went to
Denny's for dinner with the 2 grandmas.
Day 4 went to play bocci ball
and shuffle board in the morning, flash storm completely soaked us all
through as we got stuck in the rain with no shelter. We ended up in
grandma's hot tub in our clothes playing in there. Picked up the car
with a new AC, $815. Then we went and had ribs at a BBQ place and played
some cards.
Day 5 Disney world. Hailey had not been feeling well. The
kids liked seeing Mickey, then we did a couple rides and watched a show.
Then around 1:00 the kids were tired and grumpy. We went on a couple
more rides and waited an hour to see the princesses. By this time Hailey
really wasn't feeling well and was really tired so we only could get
her to take 1 picture with a princess and it has the saddest face in it.
During that wait Cougar and Hailey were both no fun because they both
wanted to be held. When we got out of seeing the princesses it was
pouring rain. The stroller was wet, we had umbrellas so the 3 older kids
were in the stroller with an umbrella over it, Tiff had the baby in the
snuggly under another and I was under another, we spent the next 4
hours this way being soaked and not having much more fun. So we left
early and headed back to grandma's.
Day 6 we had a long day of driving
to Atlanta and got in during rush hour and made it to the rehearsal
dinner in time. Had a fun time seeing the Turman family. We came to the
hotel and took the kids to the pool. After a few minutes we noticed
Heidi was carrying some extra baggage. She pooped in the pool! I took
her in the bathroom and took her suit off and it was everywhere, on
her, on the floor, an absolute mess! I finally got her cleaned up and
back to the pool and then she was swimming and followed a little bit of
water and threw up on the side of the pool what she had eaten, then she
slid back into the water and proceeded to throw up in the water. So then
we were responsible for the 12 hour pool closure at the Marriott that
incurred after this incident. We were happy to go to bed.
Day 7- the
wedding day. Last night Tiff had gotten a hand made blown glass vase at
the rehearsal dinner that she was excited about and when we woke up in
the morning it had cracked and broken into a few pieces. We went to the
temple and I went into the sealing. It was a great sealing and they
looked very happy. It was my highlight of the week just to feel the
spirit so strongly after all that has gone wrong this week and to just
know that there is a lot more important things in life than the little
trials we have. We have still had fun and made some memories but it has
definitely not been what we expected. We went to the reception and had a
fun time despite the kids being really tired and then the kids went
swimming in the pool again with all the Turman grandkids and had a
blast. Cougar loves to jump in with his floaties on and made all the
grandkids watch him and jump in with him. He was in heaven and would
have stayed all night. Heidi was also getting a little more brave and
started jumping in again like she did last year. Hailey still doesn't
like to get her face wet and so she just swims with her life jacket but
she had fun. I sent Tiff out to be with Sam's sisters to the cheesecake
factory to give her a little break from the kids because this week has
been really hard on her with all the events and the kids being a little
whiny through it all. We we be happy to get home tomorrow and start the
week off fresh and start packing up for the move. We are very proud of
you for serving a mission and everyone asks how you are doing and are
excited when we tell them where you are and what you are doing. We know
our family is getting blessings for your service and we're grateful for
the example you set for us all. Hope you have a great week. Be good and
remember,
You Gotta Wanna
